For readers who aren’t familiar with you and your music, can you share with us how you began your musical journey?

For me personally, I played in a lot of bands in high school and I always knew I wanted to do music as a career. So when I started Eliza & The Delusionals I didn’t really have a direction – I just knew I wanted to write and perform music with people who share the same passion as me. Kurt and I have known each other since we were kids, and we’ve always lived down the road from each other. I met Tex through a mutual friend at University when we needed a guitarist for a few shows on the East Coast of Australia and he ended up becoming a permanent member. Ruby was actually playing in a band that opened for us at a single launch show – we thought she was so cool we had to ask her to join.

What has it been like going from an unknown band to now being widely successful and getting to share your music with millions?!

Thank you! Well we love playing shows as a band and sharing our music, it’s just nice that some people can relate to it and also feel something! It makes the personal things we do have new meaning which is always nice!

As a band, how are you guys handling your busy schedule of touring and new releases, all while juggling your personal life?
Well, we love it! I feel like if we were to complain it just wouldn’t be right. It would be like if an athlete didn’t like being fit! We just love being a band and that’s all we want to do, so I guess our personal life is very much in the forefront of our music.

How would you say you’ve evolved as a band and musically since your first release in 2016??

I think we’ve come to understand our sound as a band and our direction. I remember when we were first starting out and getting songs together and it was kind of difficult to mold everything into what you imagine it in your head – but eventually, it happens. I think we’ve matured as songwriters and through touring we’ve learned a lot as musicians and as people.

Is there any artist or band that has significantly influenced your sound or style?

In terms of our major influences, how we started playing music and learning instruments we all come from vastly different backgrounds – but as a band we take a lot of influence from Catfish & the Bottlemen and The 1975. Not just musically, but the way you can get lost in their aesthetic and personalities.

Congrats on all of your success recently! How excited are you for your upcoming tours with Silversun Pickups and Beabadoobee?! Can you share with us any details of your set?!
Thank you! We are all super excited being able to play with artist like them! As far as details for the set you’ll have to buy a ticket and come watch for yourself… BUT! I can say they will be our biggest and most sonically driven shows to date!

Are you guys involved in the production and creative elements of your works? Such as cover art, photography, merch, etc.!?
We are definitely just as much involved in all aspects of our creative stuff as we are writing songs, it’s definitely just as important to us! and I think you’ll be able to see it more and more especially going forward! We really want to create a world where people can just put on headphones or come to a show and get lost in it all!

What has been your favorite memory from creating your tracks?!

I think writing and recording ‘Just Exist’. The song has done so much for us in the past few months, and when we were putting it together in the studio it just felt different from anything we had done. We had gone through a lot of changes personally and as a band and I think ‘Just Exist’ was us stepping up out of those changes and coming together in a new creative mindset.

Can you share with us any upcoming projects you’re working on!?
We can’t say much at the moment – but 2020 involves new music for sure.

And as a band from Australia, do you have any specific organizations us and our readers can donate to, that can help with the fires?

Definitely! There have been such horrific sights and scenes spread across our country with all of the fires going on. And we really believe that every donation helps no matter how small! You can head to Red Cross, WIRES for wildlife victims, the NSW Rural fire service and any other Rural fire service that has been affected!
