We would like to introduce you to the very talented actor, Joey Vieira! While Joey is best known for his reoccurring role as “Guillermo” on Texas Rising: The Lost Soldier, he is now able to add Nickelodeon & Paramount film, Dora and The Lost City of Gold to his long list of projects he got to be a part of.

How did you get your start with acting?
It all started in musical theatre when I was in high school. From there I went onto study Theatre and get a BA degree at Cal State Northridge, jumped into the Meisner Technique at the Joanne Baron / D.W. Brown Studio and then many years with Brian Reise.
Do you enjoy being on stage or on screen?
I love them both and at first the stage was my focus but now it’s all screen…tv or film.
Out of all your work, what have you felt most passionate about?
The independent projects!! They allow me to be more creative and collaborative.
What character have you felt most connected to?
Playing “Tio Nico” in Dora and the Lost City of Gold was my family’s story, so that was a direct connection from the start.
If you could be cast in one movie or tv show and one play what would it be and why?
There are so many great projects out there including REEF BREAK and DORA and if I could have a choice outside of that I would love to be cast in a Marvel film and Stranger Things #4.
Tell us about your upcoming role in “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”
We just had the premiere of Dora and the Lost City of Gold in Los Angeles and I enjoyed it with my family. I play a father who wants to give his family more opportunities and moves to the big city. It was a dream job and my son was jumping with excitement in his seat for the entire movie!
What was your favorite part about filming Dora?
The best part about making that film was the friends I made on set. Cast and crew were all wonderful. Looking forward to working with them all again!
What’s next for you? Do you have any other upcoming films that you can discuss?
There are a few that are coming up later this year and next. The films include At Last, Smother, Bloody Hell, Serena, Confession and Five Moons of Pluto.
