Vocalist, producer and instrumentalist, Jacob Asher, recently released his third single of 2020, “Joshua Tree.”
Jacob Asher is the solo production project of Joywave’s keyboard player and vocalist, Ben Bailey, with ‘Jacob Asher’ being a play on the artists’ middle names.
“Joshua Tree” marks the third single released by Asher for 2020. Asher released “For Real,” in January, and “Dream Car” late February. This newest single brings a different, shaded vibe to the table. Previous singles can be described as having a light, airy, bouncy feel to them. “For Real” sounding as if it would be a background track to a dream during the R.E.M. sleep cycle while “Dream Car” is a track to be put on a playlist for driving down PCH with the top down and breeze blowing through the car.
“Joshua Tree” may be the shortest of the three releases, but leaves no stone unturned. The underground feel with the added beats and lyrics does what it was produced to do. With sounds of lasers, and the notorious iPhone message ringtone, they fuse together to make the perfect track.
