Here we are once again! 2019 has come to a close and the last month of the decade ended with some incredible music! While I only chose one album to highlight this month, December was incredible as usual for new music! Check out our December favorites and our early new year picks!
“Fine Line” Harry Styles, Released December 13th
One of the most talked-about people in the world right now is the one and only Harry Styles! He has just graced us with his second studio album. Being a One Direction fan after the hiatus has always been difficult for the fans who have been here for a long time, and has been harsh on our bank accounts! There is one thing that any OG One Direction fan will tell you, getting to hear their brilliant solo projects will never get old. Harry has been gaining extensive attention in the media during 2019-2020 and is gaining millions of new fans every day. Fine line has created such a storm in the music industry, no one was ready for the insane reception it has been given. Filled with Easter eggs, beautiful harmonies, and heartfelt storytelling, Harry Styles is and will always be one of the most incredible musicians this decade has to offer. Now as a journalist people may disagree with me heavily on that statement if you stan harry styles or not, his music, brand, and message all blend so cohesively to present this essence of kindness and positivity that I believe all musicians should instill within themselves. Fine Line was able to provide me with some clarity I needed in my life. It felt so raw and emotional to me as a listener, I can imagine how he felt as an artist releasing such a vulnerable album to the public. Having Harry’s music be a topic of pop culture is quite odd for some fans, it’s wild seeing people who once bullied others for liking a boyband, now 5 years later buying their music and going to their concerts. For me, I think its a chance for Harry and his team to capitalize on a new generation of fans that enjoy his music and are loving his whole aesthetic. Music is for everyone, and Fine Line can resonate with so many demographics, this album is truly magnificent in every sense of the word. No matter if you liked One Direction, or think Harry Styles is overrated! I believe that you should give this album a chance! A chance to see into the brilliant mind of the one and only Harry Edward Styles! + for any music industry nerds, Harry has made history after releasing Fine Line in December of 2019 and having it be one of the number one albums of the new year! Talk about iconic! Treat people with kindness!
